Jamie from The Perpetual Page Turner created a bookish survey last Friday and it looked like a lot of fun. I love taking surveys and I love anything bookish sooo...this is the PERFECT combination! If you guys want to take part just go check out her post and leave me links in the comments.
AUTHOR YOU'VE READ THE MOST BOOKS FROM:
Goodreads says Ally Carter. When I was in high school I started reading the Gallagher Girl series and it's the only series I've actually kept up to date with. I adore the boarding school setting with the spy story line. I've also started her other series, Heist Society. But I'm pretty sure it's actually Lemony Snicket aka Daniel Handler. I read all 13 of The Series of Unfortunate Events. Loved the first 12, let's never speak of the last one...
BEST SEQUEL EVER:
Frostbite by Richelle Mead. Basically I disliked the first book so much, it took me a long time to actually get through it but the sequel? I ADORED IT. If you have a tough time with Vampire Academy, don't give up because Frostbite is worth it.
CURRENTLY READING:
I have like 20 books I'm currently reading. Okay fine, I'm exaggerating but really I'm in the middle of a lot of books. Two books I'm devouring though are Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan and Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan.DRINK OF CHOICE WHILE READING:
I don't usually drink while reading but hot or iced tea is always my first choice. Or lemonade!
E-READER OR PHYSICAL BOOK?:
Physical book. FOREVER. I have a nook and a tablet and I've read a lot on them but it's just not the same.
FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU PROBABLY WOULD HAVE DATED IN HIGH SCHOOL:
I'm going to have to say Mason from the Vampire Academy series. I loved the funny, goofy types but who were really sweet at the same time. Actually...this applies even now.
GLAD YOU GAVE THIS BOOK A CHANCE:
Not a book, but a series. The Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins. My friend insisted but I never wanted to read it and now it's one of my favorite series.
HIDDEN GEM BOOK:
One Night That Changes Everything or The Alchemy of Forever.
IMPORTANT MOMENT OF YOUR READING LIFE:
Discovering all the blogs out there. I always read and bought books on my own but I never read as much as I read now. One summer I discovered a book blog and from there, look at where I am now. I never would have discovered all of these amazing books or people.
JUST FINISHED:
The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines
KINDS OF BOOKS YOU WON'T READ:
A lot of people have said this but, erotica. I don't care for it. I'll read everything else though :)
LONGEST BOOK YOU'VE READ:
Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer with 756 pages.
MAJOR BOOK HANGOVER BECAUSE OF:
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. GAH. THE FEELS.
NUMBER OF BOOKCASES YOU OWN:
5! All of them in my bedroom. I know...I have a problem but one is kind of small! >.< We also have three other shelves in a family room with my kids books and my parent's books.
ONE BOOK YOU'VE READ MULTIPLE TIMES:
Night by Elie Wiesel. He's an amazing author and it's the one book I read for school that I actually enjoyed. His story is so emotional, it touches me every time.
PREFERRED PLACE TO READ:
Bed. Definitely bed but also a big round couch I have in the living room. It's so comfy!
QUOTE THAT INSPIRES YOU/GIVES YOU ALL THE FEELS FROM A BOOK YOU'VE READ:
I usually like the more funny parts in books. I usually have my books all marked up with moments that made me laugh out loud. But one that I live by is:
“You think fairy tales are only for girls? Here's a hint - ask yourself who wrote them. I assure you, it wasn't just the women. It's the great male fantasy - all it takes is one dance to know that she's the one. All it takes is the sound of her song from the tower, or a look at her sleeping face. And right away you know - this is the girl in your head, sleeping or dancing or singing in front of you. Yes, girls want their princes, but boys want their princesses just as much. And they don't want a very long courtships. They want to know immediately.” -Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan
READING REGRET:
I never want to say I regret reading a book. Even if I didn't enjoy it, I'm sure it served a purpose. My one reading regret is not reading Harry Potter. Seriously, I've NEVER read the books. When I was younger I used to get bored every time I started reading the first book (what was wrong with me?) and then by the time I actually wanted to read them my mom refused to let. Now, I just don't have the motivation. I've seen all the movies though, that counts for something?
SERIES YOU STARTED AND NEED TO FINISH (ALL BOOKS ARE OUT IN SERIES):
The Vampire Academy series. I have all the books plus the three books out so far in the spin-off.
THREE OF YOUR ALL-TIME FAVORITE BOOKS:
This is seriously the HARDEST question EVER. One does not simply choose favorites. My favorites change from time to time as I keep reading but If I Stay, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, and from this year, Altered by Jennifer Rush are definitely at the top.
UNAPOLOGETIC FANGIRL FOR:
Jocelyn Davie's angel series. LOVE. SO MUCH LOVE.
VERY EXCITED FOR THIS RELEASE MORE THAN ALL THE OTHERS:
Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge. I'm the biggest fangirl for Beauty and the Beast. I could watch that movie every day if I had to. I usually watch it when I'm studying for finals or exams because it relaxes me.
WORST BOOKISH HABIT:
Like a lot of the other bloggers, my WORST bookish habit is not returning library books on time. I'm so bad with that. One day the guy was printing my overdue books receipt and he said he'd never seen one so long *blushes*.
X MARKS THE SPOT: START AT THE TOP LEFT OF YOUR SHELF AND PICK THE 27TH BOOK:
The Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan. I haven't read it yet *hides* but I just finished the first two books and loved them so I'll be picking it up soon!
YOUR LATEST BOOK PURCHASE:
Truly, Madly, Deadly by Hannah Jayne. I've been dying to read this thriller.
ZZZ-SNATCHER BOOK (LAST BOOK THAT KEPT YOU UP WAY LATE):
The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines. I just needed to know what happened to those characters!
Glad to hear you're enjoying Unspoken!! That book is amazing. I love your answer to the regret question. We may not enjoy every book, but they all benefit us somehow.
