Btw, this might seem like a lot (and I wish this was it) but I have so many more I could add to this list! I impulsively buy books and I know you all do too. So let me know which books make the top of your lists in the comments below!

Top Ten Books I HAD To Buy...But Are Still Sitting On My Shelf Unread
We're all guilty of this. Come on, with a show of hands, who buys books because they just NEED to have them? Even when there are a million and one unread books on your shelves? Yeah, I feel like I can confide in you guys so I'll be the first to confess. Here are my top ten books I HAD to buy...but are still sitting on my shelf unread (in no particular order):
1. Unwholly: I waited almost five years for this book to come out and once it did, OF COURSE I HAD TO OWN IT...but I had forgotten most of the first book. Alas, I have to reread Unwind to read this one.
2. All These Things I've Done: The premise of this book had me hooked at once. A ban on chocolate? Yes. I even had it gifted to me and I haven't found the time to pick it up.
3. Dearly Departed: Zombies? Corsets? That's all I had to know to want to own this immediately. But as you can see, I still haven't read it.
4. Tempest: This one had to be on my shelf since I hadn't read many time travel books. I still haven't read many time travel books as you can probably tell since it's still there.
5. Insurgent: I found this one on sale the week it first came out and jumped on it. I'm kind of torn though. One friend loved it, the other has been reading it for months because she thinks it's boring. I'm scared to find out where I fall on the spectrum.
6. Forbidden: This angel book seemed really intriguing especially since it is written by a mother-son team. I hope I get to it soon.
7. Blood Red Road: The second book already came out. What am I doing with my life? I need to read this!
8. Beauty Queens: A satire comedy I just had to have and haven't had time for. The cover is lovely though. Maybe I'll read it this spring.
9. Across the Universe: I love si-fi books and ones that take place in space are even better. Plus all the hype surrounding this made me buy it. Now I just need to read it.
10. The Disenchantments: With a cover like that, I just had to have it. Who cares when I'll have time to read it, my shelves needed it! Plus I've only heard good things about Nina's books.
Btw, this might seem like a lot (and I wish this was it) but I have so many more I could add to this list! I impulsively buy books and I know you all do too. So let me know which books make the top of your lists in the comments below!

Audris what a coincidence I just bought Insurgent the other day :D
ReplyDeleteI was so close to finally getting to read Julie Cross' Tempest but I didn't get the chance and had to return it to the library as it was overdue :(
My Top Ten
Have a great week!
I know how you feel about Insurgent-- There are quite some differing opinions and I have to be ABSOLUTELY sure that I can handle it living up to my expectations before I start! I'll also need to get Across the Universe sometime soon :)

My Top Ten Tuesday
Blood Red Road is amazing, don't be put off by the lack of dialogue, lol.
ReplyDeleteAll of these have such awesome covers! I recently listened to the Beauty Queen audiobook and it's hilarious. Libba Bray does all of these amazing voices and accents. Definitely worth checking out.
ReplyDeleteI've heard amazing things about Unwind, I want to read it some time. I loved Insurgent, it did get boring in the middle and some things felt repetitive but it was still a highly enjoyable read. I read a sample of Beauty Queens and it was so funny, I need to buy it but that crazy TBR pile tells me I shouldn't.
