Teaser Tuesday: Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
Burn for Burn
BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY...THEY GET EVEN.
Lillia has never had any problems dealing with boys who like her. Not until this summer, when one went too far. No way will she let the same thing happen to her little sister.
Kat is tired of the rumours, the insults, the cruel jokes. It all goes back to one person– her ex-best friend– and she's ready to make her pay.
Four years ago, Mary left Jar Island because of a boy. But she's not the same girl anymore. And she's ready to prove it to him.
Three very different girls who want the same thing: sweet, sweet revenge. And they won't stop until they each had a taste.
Teaser:
"My phone buzzes, and I reach over to my nightstand to pick it up. It's a text from a number I don't recognize.
This is Karma. I'm a bitch. Can you think of anyone who deserves a bitch slap?
Oh, yes, I can. I can think of a few." ARC page, 117

Teaser Tuesday: Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. I am going to share two teasers from my current read, Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo.
Shadow and Bone (The Grisha Trilogy, #1)
"Three figures emerged in elegant fur hats and heavy wool kefta: one in crimson, one in darkest blue, and one in vibrant purple.'Grisha!' the girl whispered." (pg, 3)
"I tried to sit up and a bolt of pain shot through my shoulders. I ignored it and pushed myself up. I found myself looking down a rifle barrel." (pg, 35)
I am almost done with this book and I am IN LOVE! If you like fantasy then this is definitely right up your alley. Leave links to your teasers so I can check them out!

Teaser Tuesday: Smart Girls Get What They Want and Hourglass

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Today I'm going to share teasers from two books. I am currently reading Hourglass by Myra McEntre as an ebook and an arc of Smart Girls Get What They Want by Sarah Strohmeyer.
Smart Girls Get What They Want
My Teaser:
"'The principal will fit you both in immediately after school. You're to appear in her office at two thirty on the dot. Don't be late.'
Mike gave me a wink and reached over to turn up the corners of my mouth with his two fingers. 'Don't frown, Einstein. You're so much prettier when you smile.' Then he strolled back to his desk as if nothing had happened."
( Arc: page, 25)

Hourglass (Hourglass, #1)

Time to go. I reached to leave my glass on the edge of the piano, then watched, shocked, as it went right through and crashed to the ground, a thousand little glistening diamonds on the ceramic tile.
(Page, 21)

Smart Girls Get What They Want is really fun so far. It's a great summer read! I'm not that far into Hourglass but I just met Michael, the guy everyone is always swooning over, and he is definitely swoon worthy. I can't wait to read more! Don't forget to leave me your teasers!

Teaser: 52 Reasons to Hate My Father

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
52 Reasons to Hate My Father My Teaser:
"'These jobs are slightly less glamorous. Minimum-wage-type stuff. Intended to teach you something about life. To show you how the other half lives.'
'What other half?' I snarl.
'The other half that doesn't receive a five-hundred-thousand-dollar Mercedes convertible and then crash it into a convenience store the next day.'"
I started this one yesterday and I am loving it! I love the concept of the book. A girl having to work a different job each week for 52 weeks to earn her trust fund? It is definitely keeping my interest :) Every Jessica Brody book I've read, I have loved so if you haven't read one yet I suggest you start with this one!

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

Miracle
 My Teaser (ARC):
"When I woke up the sky was burning. It was orange-red with flames, breathing hot all over me, and thick black smoke bloomed like clouds. I rose to my knees and the sky grew hotter and closer as water poured over me. I knew I should turn around, that there was something behind me. I didn't know how I knew that. I just did." (page 1)

These are just the first sentences of the book but they really captured me. I can't wait to see where the story goes. Miracle comes out today so don't forget to pick up your copies!
