January was a great month for books. There were some phenomenal contemporary books, some amazing fantasy, and a little bit of everything in between. This is a new feature on this blog that I want to start doing every month (hopefully a little earlier in the month LOL) so I can share my excitement about books that are coming out that month. You can click on any of the book covers and it will take you directly to the Goodreads page.

Monthly Book Club: These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner

Jacquelyn and I have decided to start a monthly book club. One of the main reasons for this is because I feel more motivated to read when it's with other people. There's just something about being able to share a story, characters, and the emotions they make you feel with fellow readers. So let's get into how you can participate!

It's very laid back and the rules are simple. All you have to do is pick up the book of the month, read it within that month, and DISCUSS! There is no commitment to join every month. Everyone can join when the book that month is something that interests them or something they've had on their TBR. You'll have from January 1st to January 31st to read it. We'll have a hashtag on twitter that you can follow and keep up with. This will make it easier for us to check out how everyone else is doing and share our feelings about the book.

For this month, we will be reading These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. Everyone has been raving about this one, and with the release of the second one coming up this month I thought it was time to get started with this series. The hashtag we'll be using for twitter is #YABrokenStars. Even if you don't have the book yet, you can get it on Amazon, Nook, or iBooks for $0.99 until January 3rd!

I hope this turns into something really fun for those who decide to join. I love being able to share with the community. At the end of the month we will have a wrap-up with our thoughts. If you join and want to share a quick tweet with your thoughts we will be adding it to the wrap-up post.

Don't forget to use #YABrokenStars and leave a comment if you'll be joining us! Also, tweet us @YA_Bookmark and @jacquelynreads.

Recent Book Trailers

I want to share some trailers for books I have read recently or are coming out soon.

Recently Released:
Hallowed by Cynthia Hand
I just finished Unearthly (review here) and jumped right in to this book. My emotions are running insane. There is so much passion and love. I laughed and felt like crying and jumping up and down. Cynthia Hand did an amazing job in this second book.

Coming Next Week:
Incarnate by Jodi Meadows
I got the chance to read Incarnate early thanks to Anna from literary exploration. It is an amazing novel. I loved the concept and just gahhh! My review will be up next week. This trailer is so beautiful though.

February Releases:
Harbinger by Sara Wilson Etienne

Partials by Dan Wells
I am so excited for both of these. Harbinger sounds super creepy and intriguing. I kinda gushed about it in my WoW post here. Also can't wait to get my hands on Partials. Plus, Dan Wells will be in Miami in March!!!

What do you guys think about these books? Do you like their trailers? What upcoming books are you excited for?
