It's Been A While...

Hello all! It's been a while since you've seen a post on here. I admit that this past year has been a bit of a struggle for me when it comes to finding time to read and blog, but I'm hoping to be back for a while. I've been at graduate school in New York working on my Master's in Forensic Psychology. Throughout the past year I've attempted to post several times, I've even written out entire posts and it just never worked out. So here I am now, once again attempting to do one of the things I love the most.

I'm going to try to schedule at least one post a week for the next few weeks. Better than nothing! I truly miss the community and seeing everyone's posts, fangirling over books with my co-bloggers and interacting will the book community in general.

Summer TBR

To start off, here are some of the books I'm most excited to read in the next few months! I have a lot of catching up to do!

#ReadThemAllThon SIgn Up + TBR

Alright! If you haven't seen me around in the past month it's probably because I spend most of my free time out catching Pokemon. I've been on more walks this past month than I probably have in my entire life (hatching eggs is no joke). I've also probably seen more of my area than I have in the time I've been living here. So really, playing Pokemon has improved my life.

Since I've been spewing my love for Pokemon Go everywhere, Jacquelyn sent me the information for #readthemallthon as soon as she came across it. You see? That's why she's my perfect co-blogger! Disclaimer: I may or may not have screamed when I read all the details. This is the perfect readathon for those of us who were basically training along side Ash Ketchum for most of our childhood. You can go here for all the info because Aentee explains it so much better than I ever could.

Pokemon

I'm going to keep it pretty classic here and go with Charmander. I picked him EVERY. TIME. as my starter so it only seems fitting.

TBR

This is a very ambitious TBR but since we have three weeks to complete all 8 challenges I think I can make it work. Choosing these books was extremely easy since they're all books I've been looking forward to reading for a long time.

An Ember in The Ashes by Sabah Tahir: I have the sequel to this one and I just need to get the first book over with. Everyone has been raving about it lately!

Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson: The moment I read "A Book That Might Make You Cry" I knew this was the book I would be picking up. I've heard it's nearly impossible to close this book with a dry eye. I'm not a huge crier so we'll see!

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell: Katytastic alone has given this book all the hype. She's read it a billion times, give or take, since the release last year and since I've read every other Rainbow Rowell book out there, I think it's time...

Flying Lessons and Other Stories edited by Ellen Oh: This book is actually just a bunch of short stories all centered around diversity, edited by the co-founder of We Need Diverse Books. How perfect is that?

When We Collided by Emery Lord: Emery is one of my queens of contemporary. The romance in The Start of Me and You? AMAZING. I have high hopes for an epic romance in When We Collided.

352 pages, +35CP

The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson: This was actually the book club book of the month earlier this year...or maybe last year? As you can tell, I didn't end up reading it, but with the release of the third and final book in the series I've found myself reaching towards it lately. I think it's time I actually power through it.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas: I don't think I have to say much. It has a gorgeous red cover, it's a beauty and the beast retelling and I've heard all about that steamy romance.

Angelfall by Susan Ee: As with the rest of these books, this one has been on my shelf for way too long. Everyone is always talking about how action packed this series is and I want to find out for myself. Plus I do love a good angel book.

If I complete all the books I will have 590CP! I don't know if I'll be able to read everything, but I'll be sure to update my progress on here, twitter and Instagram!

ARC August 2016: What We Will Be Reading

November was a very busy month for me, between finishing up classes, taking exams, writing papers, the holidays and organizing events for the different clubs I'm in, I hardly had any reading time. While I didn't read as much as I wanted to I did read some awesome books!

I also watched a lot of tv this month...WHOOPS. Most of it was when I had any free time in between things. I would pull out my phone and sneak in an episode here and there. So some new shows I started (and finished LOL.) were The 100 and How to Get Away With Murder. They're both fantastic shows and are guaranteed to suck you right in. I'll probably be doing a Welcome to the Fangirl Side post on them soon because OMG I'm so obsessed. I already got most of my friends hooked on them too.

DECEMBER TBR

December...DECEMBER. I can't believe it's the last month of the year already! Not that I'm complaining. This month is super exciting for me since I finally graduate college and I'm also turning 23. TWENTY-THREE. I have a feeling this is going to be a very caps filled post because...FEELS.

Anyway, on to the books. I always fail at my To Be Read lists because I'm an independent woman and I read what I want. Just kidding! Most of the time it's because I have no time. This month I hope to stick to my list since there are some really great books I want to pick up before the year is over.

Top New Series I Want to Start

Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson:

This one has been on my radar forever. I'm pretty good at guessing twists, and seeing as how you have to figure out who the prince is and who the assassin is in this one, I want to see if I can guess it before it's revealed.

White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout:

I seem to love everything Jennifer L. Armentrout writes, so I pretty much trust her with my life. A half demon, half gargoyle falling in love with a demon? Plus an off limits hot gargoyle? THIS. SOUNDS. SO. GOOD. And I've read a couple quotes from White Hot Kiss....gimme, gimme.

Trail by Fire by Josephine Angelini:

I've always been intrigued by the salem witch trials. This one touches on that, WITH AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE. Yes, please. Plus, I've seen a lot of good reviews by people I trust.

These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Megan Spooner:

What first attracted me to this book was the cover. I mean, it's gorgeous. It's even prettier in person, but the story within sounds just as beautiful as the cover. Also, the sequel just came out, or is about to come out, and I need to catch up.

Jackaby by William Ritter:

I actually just heard about Jackaby from Jesse the Reader on Youtube, but it sounds fascinating, and once again the cover is just too pretty. This one is said to be a mix between Sherlock and Doctor Who...........can it get better than that?

Get Even by Gretchen McNeil:

I ate up the mystery in Ten by Gretchen McNeil, so anything she writes, I will read. Plus, the ever so trustworthy Amber from Books of Amber said she really enjoyed this one.

The Young Elites by Marie Lu:

I didn't absolutely love Legend by Marie Lu, but this one sounds amazing. I'll most likely be reading it soon since I went to a signing this month and got a copy.

The Iron Trial by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare:

I needed to include my fix of middle grade in this list and who better than Holly Black and Cassandra Clare? I love books that take place in magical schools, so I'll be picking this one up soon.

The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey:

I also went to a signing for this one this month so I finally have a copy! This means I get to finally join the rest of the bookish community and see what they've been raving about for the past year. Also, the second book just came out and I don't want to be even more behind.

All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill:

I haven't read too many time travel books. I think the last one I read was Ruby Red and I enjoyed it, but my best friend RAVED about this one for a month after she read it. It might be time to pick it up.
